 (Founded 30th September 2009)

Following the success of the Litherland Circuit League series in 2011 the Committee have decided to continue with the 20 week racing programme for this year and have booked the Litherland Cycling Circuit for 20 consecutive weeks for the 2012 Season.   We are also, pleased to announce that High on Bikes will be sponsoring the League Series in 2012.

The first evening’s racing is booked for Wednesday, the 4th April and continues on every Wednesday evening until the 15th August 2012.   The TOS’s for each week’s racing is 6:30 pm for the D and E  youth categories followed at 6:45 pm races for the Youth A, B and C categories and then the Regional A event which commences at

7:15 pm for the following registered League competitors:
BCF 2nd licence male category for Senior and Junior riders
BCF 3rd licence male category for Senior and Junior riders
BCF 4th licence male category for Senior and Junior riders
and
Senior and Junior females of all BCF licence categories.

http://www.merseysidecyclingdevelopment.org/

Please remember it is cheaper for riders to register if; their club/racing team is registered to the League and youth’s entry fees are also, reduced.

To encourage more Youth D and E categories for both girls and boys there is for the 2012 season free registration for these two categories for the league events and also, a reduced entry fee.   Due to legal and insurance matters riders for these two categories will still be required

to complete the League registration form and their parent/guardian will have to counter sign the registration form.

Riders should register as early as possible by post so that there is not too many hold ups on the first couple of nights of racing in the series when there is light restrictions at this time of the year.

Registration forms are available on the website and also, from the League’s General Secretary, Andy Gibson and League’s Treasurer, Paul Paterson

Due to the light restrictions already mentioned on the Wednesday nights during April 2012 the popular weekly Bert Owens Handicap Series for youth riders will not commence for the 2012 season until the 2nd May 2012.   Entries for this competition should be given to the Chief Commissaire on the night of racing and is free for those who have already raced in the youth events and will be run before the start of the Regional A.

Following each evening’s racing the Litherland Circuit League Committee award points for the leaders of each of the following categories:

Youth for each (A/B/C/D/E) licence categories.  There are separate tables for the girls and boys.
Junior males tables for each licence (2/3/4) category
Junior Ladies
Senior males tables for each licence (2/3/4) category
Senior Women
Youth A riders who have a BC dispensation and ride the senior event will then be classified as part of the Junior 3rd category table for the points competition.

Over £2,200.00 was paid out to riders at the end of the 2011 season for League points gained during the racing season.

Further details on the points are shown on the Merseyside Cycling Development Group website (details shown above) or can be obtained from the League Secretary.

To ensure that there is not too many holdups on competitors’ first night of racing at the Litherland Wednesday night series for 2011 they should ensure that they apply for their 2011 registration to the League Treasurer, Paul Paterson as soon as possible.   Copies of the registration forms and the cost of registering as well as the Treasurer’s postal details is shown on the MCDG website.
